GMERS FEE INCREASE
WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN?
At
June 28th 2024, the officials of Gujarat Medical Education and
Research Society decided to increase the fee of all 13 colleges under them and
this is the course of action that they tried to execute previous year too but
due to up rise of public’s denial they didn’t do it but this year they are sure
to do it.
The
Increase in fee is 66% for State quota and All India Quota,
i.e., from 3.3 lakh to 5.5 lakh rupees and approximately 87% for Management
Quota, i.e., from 9 lakh to 17 lakh and for NRI quota it is 13%
,i.e., from $22,000 to $25,000 for 2,100 medial seats in there 13
colleges.
This
year too, this huge inflation in fee is in denial by the public and they are
trying to resist the raise in fee
WAS IT GOOD?
The
Increase in the Fee for Education is never good though we understand that we
live in developing countries and we have to pay up for betterment of our
education but a sudden increase with such high percent of increase in fee is
not acceptable in the least.
Even
if the promise of better equipment and education is being made such high change
in fee is not an solution.
WHAT HAS HAPPENED TILL NOW?
On 9th
July 2024, The Higher Officials and authorities have conversed about rolling
back of fees but it’s not a promise that the fees will come to original 3.3
lakh rupees (SQ and AIQ) and 9 lakh rupees (Management
Quota) but they said that they will decrease the high change in fees and
decrease to whatever is reasonable by everyone.
On
16th July 2024, The News of few Inflation reduction news came and
they announced new Fees, i.e., 3.75 lakh Rupees for SQ and AIQ Quota and
12 lakh Rupees for Management Quota
And this
was a good news with respect to previous news yet the question remains as to what
should we do with this new fees increase should we accept it or is it yet
not justified?
WHAT SHOULD WE DO?
As
Parents and Students we should ask authorities the questions as to what
are the new upgradation? and what are the new programs will
be held? that justifies any raise in fees. If they have an
answer that justifies and is reasonable for everyone then and then only one
should accept the raise.
Asking
Questions like why in so many years new government medical colleges are
not established? Is it some sort of scheme to make money for self from
public’s hard work or is there some other reason to it?
The Data Shows the Last Government Medical
College in Gujarat was Established in 1995 From that
year no Government medical college is established by our government. The Question
is WHY haven’t they built or invested in building new medical
college since 1995. Is there reason for it or a deceit to earn money for
themselves by forcing public to go in private medical college so they can earn
or is there some other reason to it?
The
Best course of action is to raise questions peacefully if possible.

is More Valuable than Money”
